I did try the gelato (which is partly how they got their name Crema.) It was nothing special! They had 3 flavors available on the day I visited, and I tried vanilla. It tasted like any other vanilla ice cream. Pretty disappointing.
The food was fresh and well prepared not to mention very tasty. Nothing out of a can; even the jam made onsite. Super cool patio bar and very clean bathrooms. The service was excellent and all staff friendly and attentive. Will be back.
We walked in for lunch shortly before closing but one would never have known. Food was exceptional as was the service. We didn't feel rushed at all.
Hadn't been since the remodel...the new patio is great but they're having cooling issues that are supposed to be resolved in the coming week. Service is great, food is hot and delicious. I had the chicken and waffle. The waffle is red velvet with mascarpone drizzle...very tasty not as sweet as you think. Chicken is beer batter-like and a thin syrup is served with for dunking. I also had a caramel latte which was fantastic. With the restaurant outdoor cooling system working properly I say this place is terrific. In previous visits I've had traditional breakfast and also burritos. All were very good.
The hostess was friendly, but other than that the service was not good! We were ignored by our server. The other tables didn't seem to have much interaction with the wait staff either. Maybe it's just their style? When our server finally came to refill our drinks, he only refilled 1 and left my iced tea empty (did not even ask me if I wanted more.) I was taken aback/confused. We ended up not ordering food. I tried to give them a fair chance, but with so many other great places in old town Cottonwood, I had no reason to stay here. I give 2 stars because 1) the menu did sound good, 2) the other table's sandwiches looked good, and 3) they had cute/clever signs up outside.
Really great food. The cheesy hash browns are sinfully delicious and their scrambled eggs are perfect. Hubby had chorizo and avocado Benedict and his eyes were rolling in his head, in a good way. Service is always excellent. Oh, and it's the best sourdough bread I've ever had.
Red Rooster Cafe has much better service and amazing food. I'd rather spend my money there.
